I chose St Mel’s Campsie because it has a warm, family-like environment where every child feels truly welcomed and valued. The school isn’t too big, which makes the environment so personal and caring. The staff are always approachable and willing to help, which gives me great confidence that my child is in the best hands.

I am especially grateful for Principal Mullen’s wonderful leadership. Her professionalism and genuine care make the school feel safe and supportive for both children and parents.

Our family chose St Mel’s as we were impressed by their focus on curriculum, a well resourced diverse learning team, extra curricular opportunities all within a faith filled community. It was important to us that the school was diverse and inclusive, and we can see after being a part of the community for 6 years we made the right choice.

The most positive experience our children have received here is the opportunity to see themselves as a part of a strong community. The staff have ensured our children have flourished academically, socially, spiritually and with the values that are important to us. Our children have been supported in their learning from the moment they started Kindergarten, the school has worked with our family to ensure their needs are always met, and they have built some amazing friendships in their time here.

St Mel’s community is very multicultural, inclusive and supportive, there are so many opportunities for families to be involved with: faith nights, school discos, fundraisers, carnivals. Our family has made friends here that we will have for life as they are families that want similar things for their children and share the same values.

We appreciate the staff at St Mel’s so much, the teachers, the learning support officers, the office staff, they work hard to ensure children are thriving at the school and enjoy coming here. They are always proactive in their communication about learning and the playground, and it’s the level of care they show that stands out to us. Our son loves the teachers and his friends the most at St Mel’s but he also loves the extra curricular activities offered like Jiu-jitsu, Fit XP and the social clubs available at lunch times.

Since kindergarten, Dyvinia has always enjoyed the school days at St Mel’s. She often asked me on Saturday: “Mommy am I going to school today?”😀. When I asked her what do you like about St Mel’s, she said: “I like St Mel’s because it is an awesome school, learning is so much fun, I have great friends and teachers are kind”.

I had my first child with St Mel’s before, so this is my second time I put my child in St Mel’s. I can see St Mel’s quality of teaching and facilities has improved a lot in the last few years.

Academically, my daughter’s reading has improved significantly with the great support of the teachers in the early years. I could not be more grateful than that. Her favourite learning activities are music, sport, art, math and wellbeing. The principal’s approach to parents and students is also warming, moreover the school just built a new playground which children loved so much. As in my opinion, teachers and a great environment are the fundamental aspects for primary school children in the early years of their school time.

Now that school is introducing public speaking activities and music instruments in year 3, it is just pleasant to see our children develop and gain other important skills here at St Mel’s Primary School at Campsie.

Mena, Year 3 Parent

I chose St Mel’s because I wanted my daughter to have the best start in her education. The teachers are nurturing, supportive, and go above and beyond to bring out each child’s potential.

My daughter’s most positive experience has been the encouragement she’s received from her teachers. She feels valued and confident, which has made her love learning. She has really enjoyed being part of the school’s celebrations such as international family night and receiving awards. The highlight has been watching her confidence grow. She went from being shy on her first day to happily participating in class and school activities.

It’s such a supportive community – parents, teachers, and staff all work together to make sure the children feel cared for and encouraged. I love how inclusive and diverse the St Mel’s community is. Everyone is respected and celebrated, which creates a really positive environment for the kids. The community here is filled with genuine connections. You can see that everyone looks out for one another, which makes the school feel like home.

I really value that the school focuses not only on academics, but also on wellbeing, values, and character. It’s a balanced education. I love that my daughter feels safe, happy, and excited to go to school each day. That peace of mind as a parent is priceless. My daughter tells me she loves her teachers and the fun way they make learning exciting. She always says she loves seeing her friends – it makes school something she looks forward to every day.

I really like our school because the teachers and classmates are all very friendly, and the children are very happy every day when they go to school. They say they have many friends at school, and they really like their teachers. They say the teachers teach them a lot of knowledge every day. What I appreciate most about the school is that they also enrich students’ extracurricular activities during the school year. This is really great.
