Providing a range of co-curricular opportunities is important to us because we value each child’s individual skills and interests, and we want to give every opportunity for students to grow and further their potential.
At St Mel’s Catholic Primary School Campsie, we offer a wide range of co-curricular activities to give students every opportunity to grow and develop their potential. New and exciting lunchtime clubs are always being introduced in our school based on student interest.
Art
Art club provides students with the opportunity to creatively express themselves and communicate ideas via various forms of media.
Gardening
Gardening is a great opportunity to connect our children with the process of growing food and understanding the global responsibilities of sustainability and Christian stewardship. Children can join our garden club each lunchtime for garden conservation.
Sport
Sport has many physical, developmental and psychological benefits. Our specialist sport teacher guides students to develop their sporting and team building skills.
Music
There are a variety of opportunities for students to showcase their musical talents through solo and group performances, both at St Mel’s and throughout the wider community. Students enter and perform at Eisteddfods and Festivals. Years 3 to 6 students participate in the Amadeus Music program, they are tutored by professional musicians and perform in ensembles.
Dance
Dance lunchtime club develops students’ coordination, movement and performance skills. Dance groups are encouraged to perform during assemblies, in the community and in Eisteddfods.
Lego
Lego Club is an enjoyable and lively club, which provides students with an opportunity to develop their fine motor skills and problem solving capabilities.
